Hawkesdown House is an independent prep school for girls and boys from the age of four to eleven, with a Nursery class for children of three years old. It is housed in a fine building in Edge Street just off Kensington Church Street where bright and airy classrooms provide a creative and welcoming environment.

Hawkesdown House is dedicated to providing an outstanding early education. The children are prepared for examinations at 11+ to a wide range of London's selective prep and senior schools. Pupils may also choose to sit entrance examinations at 8+ to London's prep schools and country boarding schools.

The excellence of the broad and creative educational provision enriches the pupils' lives across the curriculum and in all co-curricular and extra curricular activities, so fencing, judo, chess and coding, for example, are all included in the timetable.

The ethos and aims of the School embrace high academic standards and expectations. Hawkesdown House prides itself on its outstanding pastoral care, thoughtful teaching and individual attention. Right from the beginning, Hawkesdown House provides advice, support, reassurance and the preparation to give pupils and parents a very happy start at school.

The School's motto, "Endeavor, Courage, Truth", reflects the aspirations for the pupils; that they grow into kind, capable and considerate adults, well prepared to make sound judgements and take responsibility for themselves and others. Hawkesdown House pupils are actively encouraged to develop both their initiative and their intellectual curiosity.

Mrs Jenny Mackay, the Headmistress, has a deep commitment to pastoral care, academic excellence and the development of the individual. With a degree in Education from Oxford, she also has extensive experience of some of the best education in Britain, at some of London's most highly sought after and outstanding schools.

Hawkesdown House is a happy, nurturing and successful school. There is a fantastic, dedicated staff body and a wonderful collaborative approach which ensures that the curriculum meets the needs of each and every child. The school exudes busyness and celebrates the excellence and achievements of all.
