Hilden Grange is a co-educational IAPS Preparatory School for children aged 3-13. It was founded in 1929 and is now part of the Alpha Plus Group: the Gold Standard in educational provision. The school stands amid eight acres of attractive ground in Tonbridge, Kent.

At Hilden Grange we pride ourselves on instilling a 'joy of learning'. The positive atmosphere at the school and the happiness of our pupils are evident as soon as you step through the door. Small classes and the close relationships enjoyed between staff and children provide a supportive setting where pupils flourish.

Subject specialist teaching is at the heart of everything we do: from drama lessons in the Nursery and computing in Year 1 to science investigations in the Prep School, our subject specialist teachers are passionate about instilling a joy of learning. From Year 3 every lesson is taught by a subject specialist and our pupils greatly enjoy the variety that this provides. Setting in Mathematics and English from Year 3 also ensures that pupils are taught at the pace that best suits their abilities. Pupils gain impressive examinations results. With 61 scholarships gained to leading independent schools in the past three years alone, this speaks volumes about the quality of the teaching. We are equally proud of the wealth of extracurricular opportunities we offer our pupils, ensuring that all children have an opportunity to shine.

Our Early Years teachers all share a passion for outdoor learning, which forms a vital part of the curriculum. The outdoor learning area was completely redesigned recently to provide a stunning site with huge scope for play, discovery and exploration. Children love experimenting with the interactive water wall, brewing potions in the outdoor kitchen, sharing stories in the Hobbit House and challenging themselves on the large play equipment.
