Kensington Wade is an award-winning, bilingual nursery and prep school in west London for children aged 3-11. At Kensington Wade half the lessons are taught in English and half in Chinese, giving children complete fluency in both languages, and thus a lifelong advantage for a global future.

Our child-centred approach creates a happy, stimulating environment with strong academic achievement and exceptional preparation for 11+ assessments for progression to top senior schools. Our results are consistently outstanding, and are a testament to the excellence of our dual language provision.

We offer specialist teaching from the very start with all children enjoying music lessons and, as they travel up the school, swimming, sports, computing, Spanish and science. We also provide an extensive co-curricular programme with activities designed to challenge the children intellectually, physically and creatively.

Our pupils come from a wide range of backgrounds. Many of the families at Kensington Wade do not speak Chinese at home. They may speak another language but what all our families share is an understanding of the considerable benefits of bilingualism, and the value of learning a language from an early age in an immersive setting - particularly Chinese.

Within weeks of joining Kensington Wade, all children are greeting each other, singing, counting and playing in Chinese. This fluency and ease in both languages is developed throughout their time with us, and they rapidly develop the ability to converse at a high level on any subject, and to read and write in Chinese using traditional characters.
