"Within the first week of our sons joining King's Ely Prep, we simply could not believe the change in both their happiness and their commitment to learning. We think King's Ely must sprinkle some magic dust when it comes to children's enthusiasm to learn and their emotional wellbeing!" Mr and Mrs Golding, whose sons, Benjamin and Edward, joined our Prep School recently.

King's Ely is a leading independent, co-educational, day and boarding school, which serves the academic and pastoral needs of around 1,100 pupils from the age of 2 through to 18, with boarders from 8 years old. Our Prep School (ages 7-13) is filled with the same contagious energy and excitement that the whole of King's Ely is renowned for.

King's Ely is steeped in history - one which stretches back to 970 AD - making us one of the oldest schools in the country. Our beautiful 75-acre campus is just 20 minutes from Cambridge and one hour from London, with direct rail links to both. Our privately-run school buses stop at key locations around Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, and Norfolk.

King's Ely stands in the shadow of Ely's magnificent cathedral, which makes the perfect setting for concerts and performances, and serves as our school chapel. But it is not just our awe-inspiring environment that makes us unique. So too does our innovative approach to teaching and learning, our extensive extra-curricular programme, our outstanding pastoral care, and our quirky, historic traditions! We are proud to have received an 'excellent' rating in all areas following our latest Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) Inspection, recognising the highest levels of pastoral care, academic rigour, and opportunities outside the classroom.

King's Ely pupils are renowned for their energy, their courage, and their integrity. Whether a student shines in a classroom, in a laboratory, on a stage, on a pitch, or on a mountainside, we promise an abundance of opportunity for personal development, both academically and socially.

As reported in the Good Schools Guide, King's Ely "turns out well rounded, likeable individuals who attain academically but who also realise there is more to life than just results." Only by visiting King's Ely and meeting our students and staff, can you feel the warmth of our community. We look forward to welcoming you!
