At Kirkham Grammar School, we believe in the values of a traditional education alongside a drive towards modern ambition. It is our intention to continue to build upon our 460 year history as a recognised centre of excellence for academic attainment and the holistic development of the learner. We believe everyone has a place in our community including our parents, pupils, staff, governors and alumni alike; we all have a part to play in the drive for continued excellence.

Kirkham Grammar School is an Independent Co-educational Day and Boarding School for pupils aged 3-18. The school prides itself on its warm family atmosphere. Whilst academic success is at the heart of the school’s aims, it has recently enjoyed record-breaking GCSE and A-level results. In its last ISI Inspection the school was described as "a friendly, supportive community based on mutual regard, which provides a caring, inclusive environment, in which all pupils are helped to grow in self confidence and self-esteem and develop their individual talents". This balance is achieved through the provision of a wide array of co-curricular activity to complement the pupils' learning within the classroom. The school therefore provides a breadth of activity for all, encouraged and supported by a dedicated team of staff.

The Senior School has undergone a transformation over the last decade and boasts a host of magnificent new facilities. The teaching provision includes a completely new block of twelve interactive classrooms and a science block designed to meet the needs of the large number of pupils who pursue studies in this area. Sporting facilities are outstanding with a new floodlit all weather surface and Lawrence House Pavilion. Drama provision has been enhanced by the fine studio dedicated to Theatre Studies. Most recently the school has developed its Sixth Form Centre, titled "Six Degrees", affording our students cafeteria facilities alongside new ICT provision and a modern recreation area. A new Music Centre was officially opened in January 2013 by International Soprano Lynne Dawson. A new Sports Hall, Fitness Facility and Changing Areas were also completed in January 2013. During 2017 we will be enhancing the Senior School campus with the addition of a new classroom and further sporting facilities.

The Junior School, founded in 1990, is situated opposite the Senior School and has a roll of 250 pupils aged from 3-11 years. As well as enjoying its own on site state of the art facilities, it also has access to Senior School facilities, including an Astroturf pitch and multi-purpose Hall.

The Pre-School is designed to the highest specification for children aged three and four years old. The facilities include a fully equipped playroom where children are able to access a range of resources and materials to support play and learning. Some children exhibit obvious ability in academic, sporting or creative endeavours from an early age; others do not, and may lack confidence as a result. We strive to discover the aptitudes, build the self-esteem and develop the potential of every one of our children. High levels of individual attention are central to achieving this aim, with the school's excellent staff being the key resource. We see co-curricular opportunities easily accessed and essential to every child's full development. Girls' and boys' sport flourishes at all ages, a full musical scheme is in place and every child has the opportunity to appear in a number of performance related activities each year.

Kirkham Grammar School Headmaster, Daniel Berry, ended his first year as Head with an excellent inspection report. The report recognised the school as ‘excellent across all areas’, the highest grading possible within the independent sector.

We believe Kirkham Grammar School exists for our children and therefore they must have the best!
