Lockers Park is a day and boarding school where pupils receive a first class education that is balanced and happy. Set in 23 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, just outside London, the school has been educating boys aged 7 to 13 for over 140 years while a recently launched Pre-Prep supports boys and girls aged 4 to 7.

Academia, The Arts, Music, Sport and Co-Curricular success are celebrated in equal measure at Lockers Park. The school prides itself on treating pupils as individuals, utilising a practical approach to learning that helps them discover hidden talents and initiate lifelong passions along the way. The school believes engaging in outdoor activities and playing structured sport every day is intrinsic to good schooling, leading to increased concentration and success during academic lessons.

Central to a Lockers Park education is the upholding of traditional values. Respect, honesty, tolerance and compassion still remain just as, if not more, important in today's ever-changing, 24-hour world. Charged with educating the men of the future, the school aims to develop pupils' self-confidence, resilience and self-esteem, ensuring Lockers Park boys leave as well-rounded individuals, fully equipped for the excitement and challenges of senior school life.

Academic Excellence

Treating boys as individuals is at the very heart of Lockers Park’s approach. Allowing boys to be themselves, comfortable within their school environment, encourages them to gain confidence and flourish academically.

This strategy continues to reap dividends, securing strong academic results for the school year-on-year, preparing boys for the country's leading public and independent schools via Common Entrance and Scholarships. Recent graduates have moved on to Eton College, Harrow School, Bedford School and Rugby School to name but a few.

Co-Curricular Opportunities

A rich palette of opportunities is accessible to each and every boy. Whether it's Sport, Science & Technology, Music, Art and Drama, pupils are encouraged to enrich and broaden their Lockers Park experience in many ways.

A full sporting programme and excellent facilities see pupils enjoy team games of rugby, football and cricket alongside individual sports such as tennis, squash, athletics, swimming, rifle shooting, cross-country and skiing at the local Snow Centre.

It is widely recognised that music at Lockers Park is outstanding. Over 95% of pupils learn a musical instrument with many learning two or three. A thriving String Orchestra and Chapel Choir are just some of the options on offer to pupils. Autumn 2017 will see the exciting addition of a Recording Studio with sequencing software to further enhance the school's music provision.

Other recent highlights have included a successful tour to South Africa, Chess Club continuing to go from strength-to-strength, securing 2nd place at the IAPS National Chess Championships (in only the second year of taking part), and the School Chapel Choir's 10th appearance at the Children's Trust Concert in St John's, Smith Square, London.

Encouraging Environment

Social and emotional growth is just as important as academic progression, and a highly-regarded team of staff work to ensure pupils are happy and well-motivated. A warm, family orientated and inclusive approach gives the care, comfort and support that is vital for the boys’ well-being and success.
