Founded in 1920 and having celebrated its Centenary Year in 2020-2021, Manor House School can be found nestled amidst seventeen acres of gardens, woodland and sports fields in the village of Bookham, Surrey.

Manor House School is a selective independent Day School for girls aged 4-16 with a Co-Educational Nursery and Lower Prep. It provides a smaller, nurturing learning environment producing consistently great academic results in a happy, friendly, and caring school environment.

Our staff are passionate about laying strong foundations for the children in Nursery and Lower Prep. As a member of the GSA (Girls' School Association) our aim is to support and develop happy individuals who love coming to school and believe in their abilities to learn and succeed.

Manor House School is one of the three schools in the Effingham Schools Trust partnership, which forms a dynamic triumvirate. Effingham Schools Trust diamond model offers benefits to the co-ed classroom for very young pupils, the benefits of single sex education in later, Prep and Secondary years, before returning to a co-educational Sixth Form. Families joining the Trust will have provision for boys and/or girls from 2-18 years across the three schools.

There is an extensive co-curricular enrichment programme with over 50 extra-curricular clubs and activities operating across the school each term. Pupils are encouraged to seek out new experiences and try something new. Manor House School achieves excellent Key Stage 2 and GCSE results. Seven School values form the foundations of school life and the school motto 'To Love is to Live' was chosen in 1921 by the Bishop of Plymouth, Dr Masterman, who was a close friend of one of the school's original founders.

Manor House School pupils enjoy high levels of success in all areas of Sport boasting some future world class athletes. There is a popular Senior Scholarships programme from Year 7 (application in Year 6) offering Major and Minor Academic Scholarships and Art, Sport, Drama and Music awards.

Facilities include an award-winning Nursery, Forest School which transforms into a seated theatre space for professional productions, outdoor swimming pool, a Tennis Academy, Tennis and Netball courts, Football and Hockey pitches and purpose-built Science blocks. Pupils enjoy many opportunities in the creative and expressive arts, with additional music, singing and drama lessons a popular choice.

The school day operates from 7:45am to 6pm to accommodate working and/or busy parents. Fees include a daily hot lunch and there is a minibus service in the morning and afternoons and a late bus to Effingham train station which is serviced by good rail connections, The school bus routes service Ashtead, Dorking, Claygate, Cobham, Epsom, Esher, Fetcham, Guildford, Hinchley Wood, Kingswood, Kinston, Walton-on-Thames, West Byfleet, Weybridge, Wimbledon and surrounding areas.
