Orchard House School, a highly successful coeducational IAPS school for children aged 3-11 situated in Chiswick, combines an extraordinarily happy atmosphere with first class academic results. It enjoys an enviable reputation, as evidenced by its ISI inspection in which in all areas assessed it was judged to be 'outstanding' or 'excellent', the highest grades that are awarded. The school participates in the Minimum Funding Entitlement Scheme, which reduces the fees charged for children aged under five years old.

Orchard House is a member of House Schools Group and has as sister independent preparatory schools Bassett House School in North Kensington and Prospect House School in Putney. There will be approximately 290 children on roll in September 2016 at Orchard House School.

It is our aim that all pupils should enjoy coming to Orchard House each morning. They take full advantage of a broad-based curriculum, as well as numerous extracurricular activities. Our objective is for all pupils to be happy and fulfilled, so that they may reach their full potential across all areas of the curriculum thereby becoming confident, creative and independent learners. Teaching is supportive yet challenging and always takes into account the individual needs of the children. We also strive to develop self-respect along with a strong sense of moral values, thus enabling our pupils to become responsible and involved members of society. Underpinning all aspects of school life is an ethos that requires mutual respect and concern for all members of the school community and fosters close relationships between school and home. Good manners and courteous behaviour are encouraged at all times.

Girls continue at Orchard House until the age of eleven, when they move to their senior schools. Boys are prepared for 7+ and 8+ assessment but increasingly continue at the school until the age of 11. Whilst the Nursery and Reception entry years are almost invariably fully subscribed (early registration is advised), the school occasionally has places for children from Year 3 upwards.

Orchard House provides a thorough grounding in the usual educational subjects and the children are prepared for the entrance examinations to leading day and boarding schools.

In recent years the entrance examination results to these schools have been excellent with the children regularly being offered places at, amongst other schools, Downe House, Emanuel School, Francis Holland, Godolphin and Latymer, Hampton, Ibstock Place, Kew House, KCS Wimbledon, Kew House, Lambrook, Lady Eleanor Holles, Latymer Upper, Notting Hll and Ealing, Putney High, Queen's Gate, St James, St Paul's, The Harrodian, Westminster Under.

As at its sister schools and via the House Schools Trust, Orchard House occasionally offers scholarships for gifted children aged 7+ which contribute to or cover fees in full. The scholarships are restricted to children currently attending a maintained school who show significant promise and for whom an education in the private sector would represent a major opportunity. To learn more about the trust please visit the website www.houseschoolstrust.org.

To find out more about Orchard House, please look at the school's website www.orchardhs.org.uk. Alternatively, please telephone 020 8742 8544 to order a prospectus or to join one of our regular tours. In addition, there are occasional Open Days which give an even greater opportunity to speak to our strongest supporters, namely the children!
