Has been inspiring minds since 1898 and has a reputation for excellence and academic achievement. We offer adventurous learning opportunities for children from 3 months to 18 years, with our Prep School being situated in the neighbouring leafy village of Great Chart and our Senior School and Sixth Form, in Ashford Town Centre, just a stone’s throw from Ashford International. We are also proud to be home to two exceptional nurseries. These are Bridge Nursery, based on East Hill in Ashford Town Centre and The Stables Nursery based on the Prep School site.
Why Ashford School?
Parents choose Ashford School for many reasons: we achieve high academic success; we work very closely with our students giving close attention to the needs of the individual; our class sizes; our challenging and supportive environment; our wide range of co-curricular activities; and our energetic, specialist teachers. We pride ourselves in selecting highly capable adults who are experts from a variety of backgrounds. For example, we have a former barrister, nuclear scientist and Reuters financial journalist as part of our teaching staff.
Of profound importance to us are the wider learning opportunities we provide. Our extensive co-curricular programme enables our students to grow in confidence, stand out from the crowd and perform well in interviews. In an effort to celebrate individuality and provide adventurous learning opportunities we currently have over 80 co-curricular activities on offer from Amnesty International, badminton and chamber choir, to debating, fencing, food studies, modern pentathlon and Young Enterprise.
Facilities at Ashford School include a brand new state-of-the-art sports pavilion, sports centre, two indoor swimming pools, two flood-lit astroturfs for hockey, netball and tennis, all-weather netball, basketball and tennis courts, gyms, specialist art, design technology, ICT and science labs, a well-stocked learning centre, a student café and atrium, a dining hall, pupil common rooms, playing fields and playgrounds for cricket, football and rugby, an auditorium and theatre, and a music school with several performance areas. We are also one of only 18 all-Steinway Schools in the UK.
We offer a number of scholarships to students entering into Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12. These are awarded on the basis of a number of assessments and are highly competitive. Scholarships available include: academic, sport, art, drama and music. More information on scholarships can be found on our website. www.ashfordschool.co.uk/fees
Come and see for yourself!
We hold regular Open Mornings at both the Prep and Senior School and we invite new pupils and their families to come and see our school in action. Alternatively, individual visits can be arranged.
