Birchfield School near Wolverhampton welcomes boys and girls to the preparatory school from 4 years to age 13, supported by an on-site nursery for children from 6 months. In a new and exciting development for 2021, the senior school will extend to open its first ever Year 9 class from September 2021 and run a comprehensive 3 year GCSE programme.

Our mission is to inspire and nurture every single pupil in our care, exploring and expanding their individual potential, and to encourage them within a caring community to hold in the highest esteem mutual respect, kindness, aspiration and diligence.

One of the great strengths of Birchfield’s independent status is that it allows parents freedom to select the 'best fit' senior school depending on their child's needs and strengths, be it at age 11 or 13. We work closely with families to find the very best senior school for the next stage of the educational journey and pupils now have the option to continue their education at Birchfield if they choose. We deliver a truly rounded education and our pupils move on with manners, social skills and a love of learning.

Birchfield School offers first class specialist teaching with small class sizes. We offer a range of facilities including a Lego Innovation Centre, a Food Technology room and a much-loved Forest School.

With 20 acres of extensive playing fields, including three cricket squares and practice nets, a multi-purpose astro-turf sports arena and a botanical house in development our pupils are well served with superb facilities. Sport forms an important part of our curriculum with all pupils offered the opportunity to play in sports teams.

Music and drama also play a key role in the school with children taking part in drama productions, as well as learning a musical instrument, with an extensive variety of instruments and music clubs available. The extra-curricular clubs programme is varied and showcases many exciting activities including business skills, fencing, golf, dance, art and LAMDA.
