Childhood is a time for curiosity, imagination and friendships. At Bromley High Junior School we provide a secure and happy environment in which we nurture these qualities. We believe in preparing the girls for the challenges beyond school and value the importance of a holistic approach.
The curriculum is designed to encourage independent thought, with appropriate challenge for the girls to deepen their learning and embrace new experiences. We achieve high standards by providing excellent teaching, with specialist teachers and facilities in many areas including music, sport, science, computing and languages. Physical education is an integral part of school life with many different sports on offer and opportunities to compete at all levels. The learning is enriched with a diverse programme of visits and events and a wide range of extra-curricular activities are on offer.
Creativity plays a key part in each girl's day. Girls may find themselves immersed in a Tudor Court or a Victorian classroom or even becoming a crew member on a pirate ship! They may present their ideas on becoming a House Captain or be inspired by exploring 'Moon Rocks' and take part in an evening 'star-gazing' event! Our beautiful school grounds provide opportunities for outdoor learning. Forest School enables the girls to encounter the beauty, joy, awe and wonder of the natural environment.
We understand that parents want their daughter to be happy and part of a caring, diverse community within an excellent learning environment. Being an all-through school, educating girls from childhood to adulthood brings many benefits. One school means one choice for parents as their daughters reach school age. After that the girls' educational, emotional and social progress is tracked and developed until they leave us for University, having formed long lasting relationships.
At all stages girls are encouraged to set good examples and to behave in a courteous way in order to promote self-respect. They take responsibility for their actions and show a willingness to help, support and guide others in their work within the school.
You would be very welcome to see us in action at any time, and I look forward to meeting you.
