Eaton House Belgravia is a 7+ and *+ exam Westminster, St Paul's and King's College Wimbledon feeder school, amongst many top schools. It is an outstanding independent school and nursery, educating boys between the ages of 2 and 11. Founded in 1897, the school has become part of the very fabric of Chelsea and Belgravia, offering a diverse and intellectually stimulating education in the heart of London. Despite its reputation for academic success, the school is notably non-selective at entry to reception and places wellbeing and executive functioning front and centre, as the key to igniting academic success. Small class sizes and an individual learning plan for each pupil ensure that each boy is stretched and supported according to their individual needs.
The school is ambitious for its pupils, offering a responsibly managed 'school from 2' programme. It is committed to igniting each boy's potential beyond academic excellence, into the realms of first-rate music, drama, creative arts and sport. Mr Ross Montague, Headmaster supports the traditional, academic values of Eaton House Belgravia and a philosophy of 'stretch and support'. Mr Montague says, "we want Belgravia boys to be successful, public-spirited, adaptable and innovative."
The boys benefit from an excellent network of pastoral care, in which it is emphasised not only that the staff look after the boys, but that the boys look after each other. This, in addition to dedicated form teachers and an extensive wellbeing hub, ensures that every child can flourish emotionally as well as academically. Pupils are therefore well prepared to go on to their senior schools.
Famous alumni that have passed through Eaton House Belgravia include: Harold Macmillan, 1st Earl of Stockton, Prime Minister; Sir Laurence Olivier; Eddie Redmayne OBE; Bear Grylls OBE; Anthony Asquith and Philip Pullman CBE FRSL. The schools' most important legacy, however, continues to be the many happy children who have left Eaton House Belgravia with a passion for learning.
