Eaton House The Manor Boys' School is an outstanding independent school and nursery, set opposite the leafy green stretches of Clapham Common. The school is formed of a Pre-Prep, which educates boys aged 4-8, and a Prep School, which educates boys aged 8-13. Despite its reputation for academic success, the school is non selective at its reception entry point. The co-educational nursery takes children between the ages of 2 and 4. A broad range of specialist subject teaching promotes intellectual curiosity and encourages each pupil to pursue his interests.

The school is committed to the individual learning of the boys, instilling in them an academic and social confidence that they carry through life. Eaton House The Manor has sent many generations of boys to Eton, Westminster, St. Paul's, King's College Wimbledon, Dulwich College and other top secondary schools. Pupils achieve scholarships every year, including four to Alleyn's School, two to St Paul's, two to Dulwich College, one to Lancing College, and one to Royal Russell in 2023. A wide range of sporting and artistic opportunities are available to the boys, with extra-curricular activities making the most of the school's high-quality facilities and access to the Common.

Pupil wellbeing is incredibly important to all at Eaton House The Manor. Staff prioritise the mental health of their pupils, as happy children achieve great results. The House system, dedicated form tutors, and an extensive wellbeing hub, contribute to a strong framework of pastoral care - ensuring that every child is championed and supported.

Eaton House The Manor Boys' School is located on the same extensive premises as Eaton House The Manor Girls' School, making it the ideal place for siblings to enjoy the benefits of a single-sex education on one site. In their 2022 report, the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) found both Eaton House The Manor Boys' School and Eaton House The Manor Girls' School to be 'excellent' in all areas, which include 'the quality of pupils' academic and other achievements', 'diversity and inclusion', and 'the quality of pupils' personal development'. Headmistress, Mrs Sarah Segrave, says, "A school is not a building, a curriculum or a timetable. Rather, it is a place where children grow intellectually and emotionally, guided by teachers who are determined that children succeed and are happy."

Entrance procedure

Nursery and Reception: Entrance to our nursery and reception is non-selective. Registration is accepted from birth and early application is advised. We welcome boys to our co-ed nursery in the September following their second birthday. The majority of our nursery pupils go on to attend reception, where they are joined by those who register for 4+ entry.

Years 1 to 8: Children registered to join Eaton House The Manor Boys' School after the initial reception entry point will be invited to visit the school for an admissions assessment before a place can be offered (subject to availability). Prospective pupils are asked to complete a formal 8+ assessment for external entry into Year 4.
