EF Academy International Boarding Schools prepares students for a global future with a superior secondary school education in the U.S. or UK. At EF Academy, we believe in every student's ability to succeed. We empower them to do so through our renowned curricula, as well as quality one-on-one relationships with teachers and mentors alike. With a student body made up of 75 different nationalities, multilingualism and intercultural exchange are built into every course, which helps distinguish our students' academic credentials to both university admissions officers and future employers.
Our private boarding school is situated in the city of Oxford, renowned for its scholastic tradition and rich cultural and architectural heritage. EF Academy students join Oxford's vibrant academic community, which attracts leading scholars from around the world. Ten minutes from Oxford's center, the campus has spacious classrooms, modern science labs and inviting lounges. Students have access to the library and sports center of nearby Oxford Brookes University. In the international environment at EF Academy Oxford, students aged 16 to 19 live and learn together.
Students live in on-campus residences with their classmates and house parents. House parents look after the students and ensure that they are safe and comfortable when they are not in class.
Education at EF Academy Oxford is highly individualized. Students follow the IB Diploma or A-Level program and take intensive English language courses. They benefit from an enrichment program that includes visits to University of Oxford and they regularly attend lectures in a variety of subjects. Our teachers with links to the university often arrange visits to its math department and science laboratories, ensuring students at EF Academy receive the ultimate pre-university experience.
EF Academy Oxford graduates have gone on to attend universities such as Imperial, St. Andrews and Durham. All of our students receive acceptance to university degree programs, many for highly competitive courses such as Economics, Engineering or Medicine. Dedicated university advisors work together with students to help them prepare the best applications possible. This involves giving them feedback on their personal statements, holding mock interviews and exploring program options with them. Our university advisors can also support students who are interested in applying to universities in the US or in their home country.
At EF Academy Oxford, each student is assigned a personal tutor whose role is to monitor the student's academic progress and general welfare. They can turn to their tutor whenever they need support with homework and courses, or when they are experiencing homesickness.
Universities look for well-rounded students who get involved and extend their learning beyond the classroom. Students at EF Academy Oxford have access to a wide range of co-curricular activities. From subject-specific academic groups and competitions to sports and arts, there is an option for every student. The school’s activities coordinator also arranges excursions for students on the weekends so they have the opportunity to experience the culture in and around Oxford.
