Founded in 2009, Faraday Prep School, judged 'excellent' in all areas by the Independent Schools Inspectorate in November 2022, offers inspirational learning in an inspirational setting. A happy, vibrant and diverse independent primary school in East London, the school's historic and artistic riverside location, provides a magical environment and access to a stimulating, creative community that offers exciting learning opportunities.

We give every child a first-class education rooted in a creative curriculum, with small classes, quality teaching and a personal approach in a caring and kind environment.

In these formative years our aim is to inspire a love of learning and that the desire to explore, grow and create will stay with our pupils for life. We place a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, with a targeted approach that enables each child to progress at their own level.

Our lessons stretch, challenge and engage pupils of all abilities and interests. We present children with the great literature, music and works of art to help them acquire an increased understanding of the world in which they live and build a thorough understanding of knowledge in each subject. As such, our curriculum is broad, balanced and stimulating, and includes specialist teaching in Art, French, Music, Drama and Physical Education.

Children join our Reception class in their fifth year and leave for senior school at the age of eleven. The school day runs from 8.45 am until 3.30 pm, with our private buses running before and after school from a range of East London locations. We support busy parents by welcoming children from 8.15 am and by offering after-school care until 5.30 pm each day, with a wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer from gardening to robotics.

Our setting beside the River Thames, opposite the iconic O2 arena and beside the Trinity Lighthouse, gives our pupils an inspirational location in which to learn. We are fortunate enough to be surrounded by creative industries and frequently collaborate with them through workshops to enrich children's learning and also make the most of all that London has to offer, with regular trips to museums, historic attractions and galleries.

Entry into Reception is non-selective and based on the date the completed registration form is returned to our Registrar, with siblings given priority. Entry higher up the school is by interview and informal assessment in the classroom. We offer regular open days and welcome private tours.
