Framlingham College is a co-educational boarding and day school for children aged 2-18, set in the beautiful surroundings of rural Suffolk. Founded in 1864 as a memorial to Prince Albert, the College was established to reflect and support the prince's interest in British educational development.

Today this legacy continues, through the College's celebration of a forward-looking and ambitious learning culture that encourages curiosity and enquiry. A school that is aspirational for every pupil, the College's vision, structure and size places emphasis on understanding, guiding and inspiring each child individually - so they can discover and develop their talents, find their own voice, confidence, self-belief and create their own life-story.

When a young person joins Framlingham College, they are welcomed because of who they are. They are valued for their experience, their history, their ambition and their belief in their future.

The school's educational approach allows teaching to go beyond textbook learning and 'learning to test'. Instead, it prepares pupils for a constantly evolving world, by providing a rigorous and challenging knowledge-rich curriculum, focussing on skills and connectivity between subjects and fostering a culture of high aspiration.

By encouraging pupils to seek out challenge, to embrace opportunity and to give them the time to reflect and learn from each experience, the school supports pupils to better understand themselves and the world around them. Pupils leave with an appreciation of the education they have experienced and an awareness of the issues facing society, inspired to give back to their community.

A focus on each child's wellbeing is paramount because a happy child will thrive. The integrated house structure at Framlingham College is an integral part of the school's pastoral care. Surrounding every pupil is the support of their House Mistress or Master, their Tutor, their teachers, the chaplain, and their peer mentors getting to know them and what makes them tick.

As a result of the House community pupils develop their deepest friendships, find their confidence and ignite sparks of admiration for the older pupils that lead to application and fulfilment in the larger community of the school.

The full, part and flexible boarding options available at the school empower pupils to grow in confidence and maturity and enables a strong sense of community. Boarding offers pupils the opportunity to further develop social and emotional skills and independent learning, whilst also enhancing each individual's understanding of their personal attributes and characteristics, their appreciation of their place as global citizens and their realisation of the importance of health and wellbeing.

The idyllic backdrop of 110 acres of bucolic Suffolk countryside - set across two sites at the Senior School and the Prep School - provides an inspiring and invigorating environment where pupils have the freedom to think and room to grow. And from here, pupils' horizons are global.

There is no typical Framlinghamian, no singular path that pupils take. Framlinghamians are academics, actors, musicians, expeditioners, sports people, innovators, scientists, ruminators, decision makers, storytellers, teammates, artists, fun lovers, nurturers and thought provokers. Often pupils are many things within one. But they are all individual with their own story to tell.
