'An excellent, all-round, happy prep school that brings out the best in all its children.' King's House Parent

King's House is a lively, busy, happy School and one where we feel that the boys (and girls in our wonderful nursery) thrive. Our aim is to offer a broad education to all our pupils, enabling them to develop their academic, social, sporting and artistic attributes. This breadth and balance on offer is we believe one of the strengths of the School.

King's House is a friendly, caring and supportive School. We have a strong sense of community both within the School and with our parents but we are also keen to play a role in the local and global community and to develop our pupils' sense of awareness of the world around them.

King's House is non-selective at our two main entry points, Nursery and Reception. We believe that boys benefit from staying in the prep environment until they are 13 years old before moving on. Their final two years here allow them to flourish, grow up and develop their sense of responsibility, taking on roles around the School. The boys are well-prepared for the transition to senior schools and we are justifiably proud of our 100% pass rate at Common Entrance into some of the most academic schools in the country. The emphasis though is always on finding the right school for the right child.

King's House believes in the importance of developing its pupils physically through PE and Games taught from Nursery upwards. From Year 1, the boys take advantage of our 35-acre sports ground in Chiswick for games with plenty of teams enabling as many boys as possible the opportunity to experience competitive fixtures. The main sports are football, rugby and cricket but athletics, swimming and tennis also feature. In recent years the School has enjoyed considerable sporting success particularly with its rugby teams and successful sports tours. At the School we have a fully equipped gym and AstroTurf which offers variety for weekly PE sessions.

King's House prides itself in a strong tradition of excellence in the Arts recognising that by giving our children the opportunity to express themselves we are helping them to develop self-confidence and awareness. With a large, fully equipped theatre we can be ambitious in our choice of productions.

Art and Design Technology are central to the creative arts teaching and the boys are encouraged to express themselves using a variety of media with work being displayed all around the School.

Computing and programming are playing an increasingly important role in the children's education from Nursery upwards. The Junior and Senior departments have computer suites and all classrooms have interactive whiteboards. There is also a Mac suite.

The School takes advantage of the opportunity our proximity to London affords us with regular trips to museums, galleries and theatres as well as Richmond Park and Kew Gardens. There are annual and bi-annual trips such as the Classics trip to Italy, French trip to Brittany and ski trip as well as sports tours.

King's House is proud of its 70 year history. Its principles and standards are founded on Christian values although the School is not aligned to any particular religion, and welcomes pupils of all religions and backgrounds.
