At Kirkham Grammar School, we believe in the values of a traditional education alongside a drive towards modern ambition. It is our intention to continue to build upon our history as a recognised centre of excellence for academic attainment and the holistic development of the learner. We believe everyone has a place in our community including our parents, pupils, staff, governors and alumni alike; we all have a part to play in the drive for continued excellence.

Kirkham Grammar School is an Independent Co-educational Day and Boarding School for pupils aged 3-18. The school prides itself on its warm family atmosphere. Academic success remains at the heart of the school's aims.

The Senior School has undergone a transformation over the last decade and boasts a host of magnificent new facilities. In addition, we have completed phase one of a planned four phase development programme. This included the refurbishment of the Summerlee Hall, a multi-purpose space available for use by the whole foundation; a new psychology classroom; a new conference room and an upgrade to the rugby pitches and sports facilities. During 2020, our excellence in Sport has been acknowledged as one of only two schools in the North West of England to be ranked in the top twenty in the world. Sporting facilities are outstanding with a floodlit all weather surface and Lawrence House Pavilion.

The Junior, Infant and Pre-School is situated opposite the Senior School and has a roll of 250 pupils aged from 3-11 years. As well as enjoying its own on-site state of the art facilities, it also has access to the Senior School facilities, including an Astroturf pitch and multi-purpose hall.

Our newly designed Pre-School has now fully opened. The setting has been thoughtfully designed to meet the needs and requirements of children from rising threes to 4 years old. The Pre-School offers a wide range of exciting activities and resources, which promote each child's learning across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. The setting is a welcoming 'home-from-home' where children feel relaxed and happy, while being guided and nurtured by our dedicated Pre-School team. As always at Kirkham Grammar Junior School, our fundamental aim is to offer the best possible environment in which children can flourish and naturally love learning forever.

Our most recent inspection, recognised again the school as, 'excellent across all areas', the highest grading possible within the independent sector. During the inspection, lessons were observed, meetings undertaken and every aspect of the school's infrastructure and life inspected. The inspection found that the quality of the pupils' academic and other achievements is excellent, saying: "Pupils are articulate and display excellent verbal and communication skills." The report added: "Pupils are ambitious learners, eager to respond to challenging opportunities in lessons and clear target setting in marking." The quality of the pupils' personal development was also deemed excellent: "Pupils reflect the strong family ethos of the school and demonstrate excellent collaboration in and out of lessons." Following the inspection, Headmaster Mr Berry said: "The inspection re-confirmed what was already known: Kirkham Grammar School is the best kept educational secret in Lancashire. However, it was pleasing for everyone that it has been officially acknowledged once again, against national criteria, that we are working hard to ensure our pupils receive the finest education."

We believe Kirkham Grammar School exists for our children and therefore they must have the best! This is reflected in the school remaining oversubscribed in all year groups.
