Moreton Hall Prep is a joyous, forward-looking and ambitious independent preparatory school for children aged 6 months to 11 years old. As part of Moreton Hall, our Prep has full advantage of 100 acres of pristine parkland and the extensive facilities of one of England's premier independent boarding schools, including its own farm. With a reputation for academic excellence, our school provides a wide-range of exciting activities that create a well-rounded, holistic education for every child. Primarily a day school, we also offer flexi and weekly boarding.

Located in glorious north Shropshire, Moreton Prep's central location is just one hour from three of England's largest cities: Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham, and just 30 minutes from the market towns of Chester and Shrewsbury. We also welcome students from nearby North Wales, Wrexham and Herefordshire, as well as London.

Moreton Hall Prep received the highest ranking of excellent, in its most recent Independent School Assessment, in 2019 "The quality of pupils' personal development is excellent"

The Moreton Hall journey begins with babies at 6 months in our purpose-built First Steps Nursery. At three years, children move to preschool, where our Early Years teachers guide the children in preparation for Reception, Years 1 and 2. Outdoor learning, child-centred exploration and sensitive guidance is the key to our success in Early Years.

As children move along to the Junior stage we offer our formula for a successful and nurturing Prep School education. Form teachers provide an attentive eye for all children, whilst specialist teachers deliver dynamic lessons to small class sizes. Pupils are encouraged to aspire to reach individual academic, creative and sporting goals. A rich curriculum in languages, Creative Arts, Sport, Music and Drama develops interests and resilience.

Recognising the demands of modern, busy family life, we provide a host of wrap around support, including after-school and holiday clubs, prep sessions and evening meals, as well as our flexi and full-time boarding options.

Enveloped in a nurturing, close-knit family environment, children are given the opportunity to discover interests and talents without fear of failure, laugh and play, and learn at their own pace. Children leave Moreton Hall Prep fully prepared for their next stage of their education, whether that is at Moreton Hall, or another premier school.
