As a long-established preparatory school, St Anthony's has a proud history of educating pupils since its relocation to Hampstead in the early 50's. Its reputation continues to grow; this academic year, the coeducational nursery (aged 2.5 to 4 years) opened and is already proving popular.

Assessment at 4+ and 7+ are the main entry routes to the school. There is capacity for a two-form entry at Reception and Year 3, with a maximum class size of 23. The school operates a split site, Junior House (Nursery to Year 3) and Senior House (Year 4 to Year 8), which is just a short walk away.

The extensive programme of co-curricular activities satisfies the diverse range of young interests. Minecraft, Lego Robotics, Chess (highly subscribed), Ancient Mythology, Little House of Science and Fencing are just a small taste of clubs available.

Sport is a particular strength of the school. A little-known fact is the indoor swimming pool, which enables every year group from Reception to Year 8 to swim on a weekly basis. Furthermore, there is an active schedule of fixtures in hockey, basketball, rugby, and cricket. Pupils in Year 3-8 are invited to take part in the schools triathlon in June. The school recently won the Inspired Championships, in which almost 20 prep schools participated.

The journey to senior school is tailored to each boy's needs - with an impressive array of competitive school offers at 11+ and 13+. Common school destinations include: UCS, Mill Hill, Merchant Taylor's', Haberdashers' Aske's, City and Highgate as well as St Pauls and Westminster for the more academic. In addition to critical thinking classes, the Headmaster gives interview masterclasses in the Autumn term to the exam years and holds regular mock interviews with the boys in his study.

Weekly assemblies invite guest speakers, visiting lecturers, career professionals, politicians to talk to the boys. There is great emphasis on understanding the world outside the classroom and recently, the pupils have been treated to insights from a leading Art History lecturer, a medical research doctor, a political journalist and even a member of the House of Lords.

St Anthony's is a happy and successful school where boys flourish in both academic and co-curricular pursuits. A creative mindset is nurtured through a supportive Catholic ethos and the boys grow in independence as they become ready for their next steps at secondary school and beyond.
