Co-ed Age Range 3-11 years

Founded in 1884, St. Aubyn's School has over 140 years of rich educational heritage, guided by our motto: Fortiter, Fideliter, Feliciter – Bravely, Faithfully, Happily. These values continue to shape our dynamic preparatory education, where tradition meets innovation.

We cultivate academic excellence, nurture curiosity, and instill confidence in every child. Our pupils learn in an inspiring environment – both within our vibrant classrooms and across eight acres of leafy grounds – where they develop bold thinking, a lifelong love of learning, and a deep sense of community.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, we proudly announce a 100% success rate for pupils applying to selective independent schools. This also includes 34 scholars in academics, music and sport.

Bravely: a commitment to excellence.

At St. Aubyn's, Bravely represents our dedication to inspiring confident, inquisitive learners. We nurture academic ambition while fostering a hands-on, inquiry-based approach to education. Learning extends beyond the classroom, utilizing our eight-acre grounds and exceptional facilities to create hands-on experiences – further reinforcing teachings.

Our curriculum balances tradition with innovation, meeting all National Curriculum requirements while incorporating enriching opportunities like school trips, guest speakers, and creative projects. French, music, and PE are taught by specialists from the earliest years, with additional subject specialists introduced as pupils progress.

The Head of Music leads a thriving department with a school orchestra and various instrumental groups and choirs. Pupils perform in five annual productions within our Performing Arts Centre. Additionally, performances at venues like Cadogan Hall or local music festivals take our talented musicians further afield.

Sport is central to school life, instilling confidence, teamwork, and resilience. Pupils engage in football, cricket, hockey, rugby, netball, athletics, and swimming, with small class sizes ensuring tailored coaching. Our outstanding facilities – including three all-weather pitches, netball courts, sports fields, and a sports hall – host regular tournaments with local schools and inter-school house competitions and events. Table tennis is a school favourite, with St. Aubyn's proudly hosting the East London Schools event, giving pupils the opportunity to welcome and compete with visiting teams.

Faithfully: a commitment to our citizenship.

Living in community, one which is inclusive, diverse and kind is the greatest environment to thrive – well, this is our belief, practice and experience. Our terms are filled with community initiatives, charitable activities and Environmental Education.

Facilitating collaboration amongst the vast school community, extending into the local area, not only instills shared responsibility but encourages proactivity. We often hear from our pupils of their litter picking during the weekends or even whilst out and about with family.

Furthermore, we work closely with charities such as the Redbridge Foodbank, Salvation Army, Children in Need, and many more. Whilst non-uniform days are fun, our children take time to learn about the importance behind each event.

St. Aubyn's families make the community even more vibrant, with a thriving PTA known as SASS. These dedicated parents run termly events with the children and school at the center. Highlights include, the Year 6 leaver's party, fireworks night, wreath making, and the highly competitive annual quiz – teachers vs. parents!

Happily: a commitment to looking after our well-being.

Our holistic curriculum integrates art, music, drama, and dance, making them essential elements of the school and nurturing creativity and self-expression alongside academic and personal growth. Dedicated spaces such as music rooms and art studios support children in growing their confidence, completing instrumental grading and entering local and national art competitions.

Operating with well-being as one of our core fundamentals has seen unique self-expression events such as our 'Wear Your Story' day promoting inclusive conversations. With pupils' growing awareness and inquisitive nature towards religion, neuro-diversity and so much more we are respectful and embrace our differences.

Our well-being spaces, including a dedicated garden and support from Place2Be, provide pupils with a sense of security as they develop resilience and a healthy mindset. Teachers actively lead initiatives that strengthen the school council and amplify pupil voice, ensuring every child feels heard. Meanwhile, our catering team promotes nutrition education alongside a diverse, healthy daily menu in the Dining Hall, fostering both physical and mental well-being.
