We are in the top 50 London Schools and our results are quite simply excellent. Our girls go on to world class universities. But we are about much more than that. We teach long lasting habits of wellbeing like no other school. At a time when so many of us in education are concerned about the mental health of the young people in our care, we build on the most up-to-date research alongside old-fashioned common sense to teach lifelong habits of well-being. Daily, throughout the year, we build in ways to be alert to the beauty around us. We have a farm, an outdoor stage, we have a prayer garden, a meadow, a stewardship programme which involves care for the grounds, growing of plants from seeds, care for our allotment. Long before banning them became the talk of the TES we said no phones in school.
The entrance to our school leads us past sheep, bushes and trees newly planted by girls and students. We have 13 acres of land and are blessed. We have a farm with pigs as well as sheep and chickens. There aren't many schools in London where you walk to reception to the sound of the cockerel crowing and where you can buy eggs collected by girls who also tend to the animals at weekends and in the holidays. Proper pastoral care attends to the whole family.
When we are happy we learn well. They are also happy - and most unusually, many of them know what it is like to feel the wind on their face, to climb trees and to sledge freely using trays from the kitchen when it snows. Our girls and staff are game changers - they are ambitious and they are also learning deep rooted habits of establishing deep emotional wellbeing.
