St Columba's College is a co-educational independent Catholic day school for pupils aged 4-18 in St Albans, Hertfordshire. We provide a high-quality education and outstanding pastoral care to students of all faith traditions.

Our holistic approach to education creates a nurturing environment where every student can flourish and achieve their own best standard.

St Columba’s is a vibrant, happy place where each student is known, valued and treasured. They are supported by a dedicated, caring staff and a thriving global Alumni network.

At each phase of education – Prep, Senior and Sixth Form – we nurture the key Columban qualities of Courage, Courtesy and Compassion. We strive for academic excellence whilst realising that it is a well-rounded education that best prepares our young people for the world and workplace of tomorrow.

For a Columban, being the best that they can be means not only achieving academically, but also becoming a confident, resilient and compassionate young person who is prepared to make their way in the world.

St Columba's College is continuing its move to full co-education throughout the school. Our first girls joined the Lower Prep and Lower Sixth in 2021. From September 2022, girls will also be welcomed at 11+ into Year 7.

In recent years we have invested in new facilities including Science and D&T labs, a completely refurbished Sixth Form Centre and new Music practice rooms. We also opened a new Drama Studio when we added A Level Drama & Theatre Studies to our curriculum

For September 2022 we will have all new sports pitches as part of a multi-million-pound redevelopment of our site. They will include a state-of-the-art AGP and a MUGA. New Art and Design Studios will allow us to offer Textiles and Photography as part of the Art curriculum.

We pride ourselves on having a uniquely long and broad perspective on the concept of success for our pupils: we don’t push them towards specific Universities but help them to research courses and routes into the world of work that best suit their own dreams.

Our leavers’ destinations include top Universities in the UK, USA and Europe, as well as Music Conservatoires, Art Schools, Apprenticeships, the Armed Forces and Emergency Services.
