The Oratory Prep School is a leading independent day and boarding Catholic school for children aged 2 - 13, set within 65 acres of South Oxfordshire countryside.

Pupils benefit from an excellent education enriched by outstanding facilities including extensive woodland, ponds and adventure playgrounds; a learner pool and a 25 metre heated indoor swimming pool; a full size 3G pitch; and a raked 300-seater auditorium with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.

Our impressive scholarship record and consistently high grades provides testament to the hard work of the whole school family and, whilst our vision is to provide outstanding learning opportunities for all, we are conscious of the importance to strike the right educational balance, so that our children are prepared for their future endeavours, whilst very much enjoying the journey that they are embarking on. This is crucial in our every-changing global climate.

At The Oratory Prep School, we are proud of the work of all our children and are passionate about ensuring their emotional and social wellbeing. Our commitment to excellent pastoral support, with an emphasis on Catholic values, is central to all aspects of school life.

Beyond the classroom, we provide a wealth of opportunities enabling pupils to thrive in a variety of fields, whether in orchestra, choir, on the stage or on the rugby field. Our action-packed Activity Programmes offer activities ranging from fencing to cookery alongside our diverse Newman Programme including modules in debating, interview and presentation skills and orienteering. Outstanding Performing Arts opportunities are also available, through LAMDA from Year 1, instrument and vocal tuition, and musical and drama productions.

Little Oaks Nursery is where the journey begins. We welcome children from two years of age where we instil a spirit of exploring and discovery and an appetite for trying out new things.

We nurture aspiration from the earliest age through an excited and varied curriculum that challenges and extends our children academically and is rich in music, art, sport and outdoor learning.

In Junior Prep (Reception to Year 4) and Senior Prep (Year 5 to 8), our pupils achieve academic success through a well-rounded, hands on education that brings out the best in each child.

We balance academic rigour with fostering a continuous love for learning, making it fresh and fun and engendering a raft of skills and attitudes - such as being inquisitive, creative and adventurous.

Alongside this, we offer a wealth of extra-curricular trips and activities to enrich learning and provide a breadth of experience that enables each child to discover talents and passions that prepare them for senior school and for life beyond.

Boarding is an integral part of school life. We provide full, weekly and flexi-boarding to children from the time that they enter Year 3 upwards with many taking advantage of our weekly flexi-boarding programmes. Boarders enjoy a full and varied calendar of activities throughout the year - from our Newman Programme and sports matches to various outings and cultural trips.

Here at The Oratory Prep School, our focus is to work with you and your child to ensure that his or her learning journey continues - not only in a way that challenges them intellectually, but in a manner that inspires their curiosity and enables them to dream.
