Brentwood’s Equestrian team saw 2020 out in style with a fantastic last competition of the year at Brook Farm Equestrian Centre, Stapleford Abbotts at the weekend.

A super second placing in the first class of the day for the team of Sophie P, Imogen P and Lily T, saw them qualify for the National Schools Equestrian Association championships in October 2021. Imogen also posted the fastest clear for a fabulous win individually.

The same team contested the competitive 95 showjumping event to come 3rd just pipping Brentwood’s other team of Sophie and Imogen (on their second horses), Ben H and Emma P who took the well-deserved 4th spot.

The last class of the day resulted in a very convincing win for Ben, Emma, Sophie and Imogen as they were the only team to finish on a brilliant zero score ahead of second placed New Hall and third placed Felsted.

This also qualified them for the same nationals in October, as well as the Elite championships at Hickstead next year. Imogen and Sophie produced super speedy rounds for spectacular 3rd and 4th individual placings too.

Team Manager Annette Philpot said: “Huge congratulations to all our riders for each gaining a qualifying result and the team were thrilled to have the lovely support of Mrs Giles, Mrs McLeod and Miss Morrell at various times of the day.

“Our grateful thanks go to all the NSEA team enabling this event to go ahead running under Covid-19 restrictions.”
