Children in Need fundraising at Northbourne Park School

Friday 16th November was a ‘spotacular’ day at Northbourne Park School as children entered into the Pudsey spirit raising money for Children In Need. While the prep school children marked the day by holding a large fundraising cake sale, the Pre-Prep children enjoyed a spotty non-uniform day, a doughnut cake sale and a country ramble on the school grounds. Total raised was £667.76.

All the money raised goes to help children around the UK, making a difference to young lives. 2700 projects across the UK are currently supporting disadvantaged young people, including two nearby. Dover smART project has been funded to provide arts activities for young carers, helping them to improve their emotional wellbeing and family relationships. Alkham Valley Community Project offers therapeutic horse-riding and related activities to disabled children.

Elizabeth Hayes, Head of Geography and Religious Studies at Northbourne Park, said: ‘The children have really got into the Pudsey spirit and it’s good to see that the money raised is making a real difference to young people’s lives on our doorstep.’
