On Sunday 21st May, approximately 850 school children came together at Cranleigh School to take part in the Knight Frank Schools Triathlon. In teams of four, they swam, cycled and ran to raise over £95k. An inspiring story of local children supporting young people around the world.

This is a national series organised by global youth charity, Restless Development. This year, more than 7,500 pupils will be taking part to raise over £950k; which will support more than 80 charities. Thanks to event sponsor, Knight Frank the much needed funds raised will go directly to charity.

Cranleigh School has hosted the event since 2017. It was a truly community centered day, with local businesses and over 2,000 attendees coming together for a feel-good event. Generous volunteers and Cranleigh pupils kindly gave up their Sunday to ensure the event ran smoothly.

Lots of inspiring stories came out of the day including Clea Lester (aged 10) of Parkgate House School who took part alongside her friends, forming the Cheerful Cheerios, raising over £1,500 as a group. Besides sending their Just Giving page to family and friends, the business-minded team also helped their fundraising efforts by setting up a lemonade stand in Clapham Common!

Clea believes that “Young people are the future and we have really important messages to be heard. We should be given opportunities to be listened to, to change the world and our futures!”

On the day, Clea enjoyed the cycling and taking part with her friends the most. She found the running a bit challenging but powered through and the Cheerful Cheerio’s crossed the finish line together!
