Applications are now open for a free or subsidised place for a child entering Year 3 or 4 in September 2022 to attend Faraday Prep School with the help of the Fishmongers’ Faraday Award.

Faraday Prep School is encouraging children who show academic promise to apply for the Fishmongers’ Faraday Award. Now in its fifth year, the award will cover up to 100% of the school fees for a child who would otherwise be unable to attend and is currently attending a maintained school in Year 2 or 3. Special consideration will be given to children with exceptional creative talents.

Faraday Prep School is an independent inspirational school set within the community of Trinity Buoy Wharf. With small class sizes and inspiring teachers, the school takes an individual approach focussing on wellbeing and nurturing children’s innate curiosity. Students are encouraged to follow their inclination to explore, grow and create.

A strong emphasis is placed on literacy and numeracy but tailored so that each child can progress at their own level. Teachers regularly liaise with the community of Trinity Buoy Wharf allowing the children access to unique experiences and the chance to discover interests beyond the national curriculum.

There is one place available and any child currently attending a maintained school in Year 2 or 3 is eligible to apply. Selection will be based on interview and references. Additionally, candidates will be asked to provide their most recent school report and undertake a range of activities and assessments. No advance preparation is needed for these tests.

Previous awardees have thrived at the school with parents citing the benefits as the breadth of education, small class sizes, nurturing approach, after school clubs, location and secondary school options.
