Felsted School Sixth Former Sarah Blanc (age 17 from Colchester) recently won gold in two categories in the international iDance competition in Beijing.

Sarah and her dance school – Miss G’s Academy of Performing Arts – travelled to Beijing over the school holiday where they had the opportunity to train with former Royal Ballet Principal and Hong Kong Actress Flora Cheong-Leen. Sarah then proceeded to win gold in both the Ballet and Modern Senior categories of the iDance international competition.

Sarah, who has been dancing since she was three years old, trains for around seven hours a week, carefully balancing this with her studies for the International Baccalaureate Diploma and other co-curricular commitments at Felsted.

‘After Felsted, I hope to go onto full-time dance college to obtain a dance degree and my teaching qualifications,’ comments Sarah. ‘Hopefully this will to enable me to dance professionally so that one day I can start up my own dance school.’

Felsted encourages dance as part of its wide co-curricular offering, recently putting on a dance show for friends and family to showcase the pupils’ hard work over the year. Parents can find out more at their upcoming open morning on 11th of May: https://www.felsted.org/admissions/open-mornings
