German partner school features Churcher's College in open event video

Churcher's College runs an exchange programme with our German partner school, the Mariengymnasium Warendorf, offering the opportunity for pupils of both schools to visit each other each year.

The Mariengymnasium Warendorf have been responding to the global pandemic in much the same way that we have, by creating a series of videos for their virtual Open Day this year. Churcher's College and its pupils feature in one of the videos, aimed at showing prospective pupils and parents their credentials as a European School and the many languages which can be learned there, including of course English.

The video includes a clip of some of our Third Year pupils, who had recorded and sent a short greeting to their fellow pupils in Germany last term.

French and German teacher Mr. Crossman said: “Despite the disappointment of having been kept apart by the pandemic this last year, our ties with our friends and colleagues at the Mariengymnasium Warendorf remain as strong as ever. We are delighted and honoured to have been able to play a small part in their virtual Open Day this year, and we remain fully committed to getting the pupil exchange with our partner school in Petersfield's German twin town up and running again as soon as conditions allow.”

We wish all the pupils and staff at the Mariengymnasium Warendorf well and we look forward to being able to visit each other again soon.
