Faraday Prep School has been judged ‘Excellent’ in all areas by the Independent Schools Inspectorate following an inspection in November.

Divided into two parts, the rigorous inspection covered Educational Quality and Focused Compliance. Three inspectors, shadowed by a lead Ofsted inspector, have awarded Faraday the highest accolade of Excellent, both in children’s academic achievement and pupils’ personal development. This is equivalent to the highest Ofsted rating of ‘Outstanding’ and acknowledges the school’s strength in academic success and its commitment to children’s wellbeing.

Lucas Motion, Head Teacher at Faraday, commended the whole school community: "Enormous credit is due to our hard working, talented and committed staff team who are rightly very proud of the pupils' outstanding subject knowledge, skills and progress. We are immensely proud of our happy, confident and articulate children who demonstrate exemplary attitudes to learning. I’d also like to thank parents play for their vast and various contributions to the school community and embracing the many opportunities that the school has to offer."

Referring to the quality of the pupils academic and other achievements the key findings include:

  • Pupils, including children in EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), attain well above age-related expectations
  • Pupils’ subject knowledge, skills and understanding are outstanding
  • Pupils display exemplary attitudes to learning and achievement.

Key findings recognising the excellent quality of the pupils’ personal development include:

  • Pupils exhibit substantial self-confidence and perseverance
  • Pupils display advanced spiritual awareness for their age; they reflect on philosophical and spiritual ideas with maturity
  • Pupils display excellent moral understanding and behaviour
  • Pupils exhibit extremely strong understanding of how to keep themselves safe and look after their mental well being.

The inspectors were particularly impressed with how the ‘pupils’ academic and non-academic achievements are outstanding for the size of the school’ highlighting that several leavers have achieved art, drama and academic scholarships to senior schools with individual success at national level in gymnastics, football, singing and professional theatre.

Deborah Livsey, CEO at New Model School Company (NMS), said: "This achievement is earned through evidence that excellence permeates everything that the school does, with embedded values which ensure the highest quality of learning and personal development for each of its pupils."

Faraday's sister school, Maple Walk, was also awarded the same rating in March 2020. With both schools keeping fees to the lowest sustainable cost, they embody the group’s founding commitment to provide a first class, excellent value education, fully endorsed by the report which noted ‘the school fully meets its aim to deliver value for money.’
