King’s Ely Junior rider Adele Shaw has qualified for the National Schools Equestrian Association’s (NSEA) National Championships.

Adele, 12, represented the school at the NSEA Arena Eventing Jumping with Style competition, held at Bury Farm Equestrian Village in Bedfordshire on February 9th.

Adele, from Soham, beat off stiff competition to win the 85cms class, securing her a place at the National Championships in October.

The manager of the King's Ely equestrian team, Sue Cameron, said: ‘The competition was tough with some really big classes, so Adele certainly did herself and the school proud. She is now looking forward to the National Championships in October, and will be out chasing further qualifiers in the near future, both at the higher classes and in the pure show jumping.’

King’s Ely students enjoy lots of success on the equestrian scene. Only in December, the school Equestrian Team qualified for the NSEA County Championship Finals, the Royal Windsor Horse Show 2019 and the Hickstead Elite Finals.

Sue Cameron said: ‘The hard work and dedication of the riders, their parents and some very talented ponies has culminated in some amazing successes recently. I am not only proud of their results, but also how they conduct themselves and have fun when they are together and competing.’
