On Friday 27th March Sarah Baird, Head of Drama at Highfield and Brookham Schools, received an email to inform her that all 45 pupils that had taken a LAMDA exam in the Spring Term had received either a pass with Merit or pass with Distinction. This is the second year in a row that all results were a Merit or Distinction. This year’s 19 Merits and 26 Distinctions is a marked improvement on last year’s results which were made up of 26 Merits and 11 Distinctions.

Highfield and Brookham Schools are increasingly being recognised for their fantastic drama provision. Many schools do one annual whole school production, but at Highfield and Brookham each year group has the opportunity to do a production every year, from Nursery all the way to Year 8. Nearly 100 children take LAMDA as an extra subject and there are now five teachers offering it at the schools - proving its success and popularity.

Phillip Evitt, Headmaster at Highfield School says, “I am so proud of every single child and I know this will be great news for all concerned as we go into the Easter Holidays in a way that we haven't seen before. I wish to thank every LAMDA teacher for the fantastic job they do - building confidence, self-esteem and enhancing communication skills are at the forefront of any child’s personal development.”
