The start of the new year brings news of where the Sixth Form pupils will head next. This year, students at Churcher's College have again achieved a plethora of offers.

'10% of Churcher’s Sixth Form potentially off to Oxbridge is exceptional news and makes me very proud by association,' said Simon Williams, Headmaster at Churcher’s College. 'This success, and that of all our other Sixth Form students, is undoubtedly due to their hard work and talent but is also, in no small part, due to the huge support and preparation they are given by their teachers and parents.

It is very reassuring to know that we are evidently giving our students the competence and confidence to successfully move on to the next stage of their educational journey. It is equally encouraging that they are going in many diverse directions. Along with the ten Oxbridge candidates, who have offers in a wide range of courses including Engineering, Russian & German, Veterinary Science, English Literature, Mathematics, and PPE (Philosophy, Politics & Economics), the Sixth Formers at Churcher’s move in many varied directions: Art and Architecture, Business, Computing, Drama, Humanities, Law, Languages, Maths, Medicine, Music, Psychology, Science, Sport, Veterinary Medicine – there is hardly a letter of the alphabet not catered for!'

Amongst those offered a place is Tim Higginbotham, who commented: 'I was over the moon and I am immensely excited about the prospect of studying Natural Sciences at Emmanuel College, Cambridge: it’s a dream come true!'

Balancing success in the sciences with a love of the written word is Evie Fleck who has been offered a place at Wadham College, Oxford to read English Literature. 'I will be giving it my best shot to get the grades I need for my offer,' explained Evie. 'But I know that I’ll be happy wherever I end up and am really excited about the whole university experience; lectures, extracurricular opportunities and meeting lots of new people!'
