Over half of GCSE grades at Lord Wandsworth College at A* or A

On the back of some fine A level results, the GCSE pupils at Lord Wandsworth College shone this summer, with over half of all GCSE grades being awarded at A* or A (53%) and 80% of all grades at A*-B, equalling the school’s best GCSE performance in many years and against the backdrop of more challenging exams and reports of less certainty in the new grading system. 95% of pupils achieved and average of A*-C across all subjects.

Huge congratulations, in particular, go to Tabitha Restall-Young and Hristina Iankova, who achieved the perfect set of 10A*s, closely followed by 12 other pupils including Amy McGeoch, Luke Allison and Alvin Boateng who achieved 8 or 9A*s.

Although a school which is passionate about the all-round nature of education and the individual, LWC continues to invest heavily in the quality of teaching and learning, staff professional development and teaching facilities. With a £250,000 refurbishment to the English department almost complete and a state-of-the-art new Science centre in the planning stages to name but two of many projects, the core subjects of English, Maths and the Sciences, in particular, are flourishing, with A*-B grades of over 90% in almost all cases this year.
