This is the first year since 2019 that externally assessed GCSEs have been held, and it has been a year of signal success for Priory students and tutors.

125 GCSEs were taken over 18 subjects by 16 students. 91% of all GCSEs were at grade 9-4 or A*-C, and 100% were at grade 9-4 or A*-C in the following 15 subjects: English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science, Computer Science, History, French, Spanish, German, Drama, Film Studies, Art & Design, and Photography.

A particular mention goes to some exceptional individual performances: Elizabeth Senior on achieving 10 GCSEs all grade 9-7, Ruby Elliott with her 10 GCSEs all grade 9-5 with 7 grade 9-7, and Reena Syeda on gaining 9 GCSEs all grade 9-5 with 7 grade 9-7.

Principal, Mr E Matyjaszek, offered his congratulations: “We are absolutely delighted that in this first year since 2019 of externally assessed exams – a full and proper exam system – and with this year’s candidates having had to negotiate two years of lockdown and seriously interrupted education, we have seen Priory’s results equal if not better 2019 and earlier. A signal achievement for both the students and for their Tutors who have supported them throughout the last three years.”
