Pupils at St Margaret's School celebrate A Level victory with exceptional academic outcomes

Clean sweeps: 70% of all results were A* to B grades with over 50% of all Year 13 pupils achieving at least one A* or A grade

Local pupils at St Margaret’s independent day and boarding school in Bushey, have been celebrating their tremendous academic achievements as the school’s A-level and AS results for 2019 were revealed. Victorious in securing yet another year of fantastic results, the school is proud to announce that a resounding 86% of all results were A* to C grades, with 70% of those being grade A* to B. The number of pupils at St Margaret’s School achieving a grade A* or A has also increased by 10% on 2018’s results with more than a third (36%) of pupils achieving a clean sweep of top end grades.

Academic Director at St Margaret’s School, Simon Winchester, commented: “Today’s results highlight the incredible academic outcomes achieved by our pupils. The commitment every pupil in Year 13 has shown to their studies has been recognised in what is an exceptional set of results; we are extremely proud of them all.”

With over 50% of all pupils achieving at last one A* or A grade, the school has also seen a surge of high achievers in Mathematics this year, with 90% of pupils achieving an A* to B in this subject. Talented pupils studying Fine Art & Photography and also Art Photography and Classical Civilisation were also flying high today with 100% achieving A* to B grades in the subject.

Director of Sixth Form, Charlotte Harrison, said, “Year 13 can now look forward to an exciting range of university courses. We are delighted that the majority of our students are going on to study a range of competitive courses at Russell Group universities.”

Year 12 pupils have also achieved some superb AS results, putting them on track for applications to Oxbridge and other competitive universities. St Margaret’s School would like to thank all the sixth formers for their hard work and the teaching staff for their commitment and dedication to helping all pupils achieve the best academic outcomes.
