What a thrilling day for Leehurst Swan pupils at the ISA South West Athletics Championships on Wednesday!
Thirty pupils from Years 4 to 10 travelled to Exeter to compete in track and field events.
Four of Leehurst Swan pupils came first in seven events and thus automatically qualified for the nationals in Birmingham! Well done to Immy Tanner (300m and 1500m), Eleanor Mould (shot and javelin), Ben Collingridge (800m and high jump) and Libby Hemming (600m). Many other Leehurst Swan pupils came second in their event and have a possibility of also being called to the finals!
There was a great display of determination and encouragement of others.
