St Andrew's Prep, Eastbourne celebrates National Superhero Day with FAB film

Posted on 28th Apr 2020 in School News, Online learning

It's National Superhero Day today and the Reception children of St Andrew's Prep, Eastbourne have made a superheroes film to celebrate and recognise all our real-life superheroes out there - from our doctors, nurses and those working in social care, to our delivery drivers and shop workers; to our military personnel, police officers and firefighters, and of course, our teachers. But there are plenty more.

St Andrew's Prep has adapted quickly and intuitively to the pandemic crisis. It's remote learning programme includes a daily address by the Headmaster, daily fitness and academic challenges and, of course, fun, interactive, collaborative lessons all delivered via the school's remote learning platform and TEAMS.

Mr Jones, the headmaster said, "At such a challenging time, our Reception children have been inspired to make this film to recognise the heroic deeds of everyone who is staying safe, washing their hands and protecting each other. We do not need capes and amazing powers to be a superhero – we all have a hero inside of us - but those members of our community who are risking their lives to protect, educate and save others are inspirational. I am immensely proud of everyone in our community for demonstrating resilience, adaptability, creativity and initiative and I hope you like this uplifting film.”
