St Columba’s College welcomes girls to Reception

Six months on from announcing their move to co-education, St Columba's College in St Albans is delighted that their first girls have started in Reception!

The first day of term in January 2021 saw the girls and their families being welcomed into the Columban community on a brilliant first day of remote learning. Some of the girls' fathers are also Old Columbans, and the move to co-education allows them to send both sons and daughters to the school.

Head of Prep, Mr Richard McCann, said: "We are all very excited to have welcomed our first girls to St Columba's at the start of term, as they embark on their journey as Columbans. They have started off their remote learning in Reception brilliantly, and thoroughly enjoyed their first day."

From September 2021, girls will also be welcomed into the Lower Sixth (Year 12) and Lower Prep (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2), as the school begins its phased transition to co-education.
