Top business offers for Felsted sixth formers

Twenty seven Felsted School leavers are pursuing tertiary education in finance, economics, accountancy or management, the largest career category across this year group. 

Top university offers include Economics at Durham, Reading, St. Andrews and Warwick, Finance at Durham, City University London and Nottingham, International Business with French at Birmingham, plus a number to Exeter, King’s College London, Oxford Brookes, Richmond and UEA to read International Business Management, Business Management or Marketing Management. Six of these are students who have studied the International Baccalaureate Diploma at Felsted, the rest A Levels.

Joy McArdle, Head of Business and Economics at Felsted is delighted that so many are furthering their interest in this area. Across the year group of 124 students, 51% have studied Economics or Business at either A Level or as part of the IB Diploma. She comments; ‘there are so many interesting business related courses out there for students of all abilities, with many combining different areas of interest including languages, philosophy and sustainable development, to name a few.’

Head of Professional Guidance, Mrs Louise Scofield comments; 'some of these students have also applied and been successful in gaining attractive degree apprenticeships in the finance sector, in parallel to their university applications, and it is encouraging to see more and more becoming available in this field.’

Felsted was recently named top in Essex and in the top 5% of schools in the UK for academic progress at A Levels. This year’s Upper Sixth have 122 offers from Russell Group universities, including 3 Oxbridge offers.
