Consistent success in GCSEs at Holme Grange

Holme Grange School, Wokingham celebrates another record GCSE year with nearly half of all grades being 9–7, the old A* - A. This is a great achievement for a lovely year group who worked so hard.

Mrs Claire Robinson, Headteacher expressed her delight at the results: “This year group deserve their success with many achieving top grades. I’m also pleased for the staff who worked hard to prepare our students for these exams. The Science department particularly with nearly all students securing 9–7 grades. 75% of all Art, Craft and Design grades were 9-7 and 60% of ICT and Computer Science grades were 9–7.

"I am extremely pleased that this year group has been so successful, they worked extremely hard and have been an outstanding year group within the school. This group of students represent our values and habits so well. They move onto their next adventure with confidence, resilience and self-belief. We have not only provided the platform for the pupils to achieve academically but they are well rounded people able to deal with whatever life will challenge them with.”

She went on to say: “Everyone, students and staff, deserves congratulations for their commitment and energy as they worked together towards the GCSEs. It was fantastic seeing students, staff and parents at school this morning sharing this success. I wish everyone the best of luck as they move onto some exciting opportunities in a range of 6th form and apprenticeship settings.

It has been an honour to play a part in these young people’s education and we share great pride in their achievements. I would like to thank all those who were involved in supporting these students to achieve their potential and in many cases, beyond”

The school achieved a 99% pass rate across the board. Nearly half of all grades were 9–7. French and Spanish Higher saw 100% of pupils achieve 9-8 and all the individual Science subjects achieve over 80% 9–7 grades.
