Moreton Hall Prep School in Weston Rhyn have raised a staggering £900 in sponsorship during their annual Santa Run, held within the 100 acre grounds at Moreton Hall.

On a fresh December morning 90 pupils from the independent school spread festive cheer in a sea of red Santa costumes to raise funds and help make magical wishes come true for families who depend on the vital service provided by The Movement Centre in Oswestry.

The UK charity and specialist treatment centre support children and their families living with movement disabilities. The Movement Centre provide targeted training therapy to enable children to develop new skills and become far more independent which can have a huge impact on their life. The centre is currently the only one in the world providing this type of therapy and rely on support and donations to make sure children across the UK get the life-changing help they need.

Year 1 pupil Isla Borrett who donated her birthday money to the charity said “Having lots of money doesn’t matter, but helping children that can’t walk does.”

Silvia Grace, Acting Headteacher of Moreton Prep said, “It was a magical moment to see a parade of red Santas of all sizes flowing out of Moreton Prep to go on their run, the Santas knowing that their run was for a good cause and that other children would benefit from their efforts. Well done, Santas. A truly superb event and many thanks to all the parents for their generous donations.”
