Eve Goddard Smith stormed to gold in the 200m Butterfly at the International Island Games in a personal best time of 2:23:19.

When asked how she felt, Eve, who is currently juggling training with her studies in the 6th form at St Gerard’s School Trust in Bangor, North Wales, said: “Delighted with my performance given I had to reduce my training hours due to exams. It was an unexpected result with a PB which I haven't been able to break for two years.

"Winning Gold at the International Island Games – all the training and preparation paid off. Overall, an amazing experience “

Mum and Dad said they were still on a high, and so proud of Eve.

And then just as an aside – Eve followed this up with a lifeguard course when she got home!

Well done Eve – a fantastic performance !
