There was a real boost for St Columba's College swimmers last weekend when Sixth Form student Caitlin Hartley won three medals at the English Schools Swimming (ESSA) Inter-Divisional Championships in Coventry.

Representing the East Division at the Championships on 12th and 13th March, Caitlin did an amazing job, setting new personal best times as she won the Silver medal in 200m Breaststroke and Bronze medals in 50m Breaststroke and 100m Breaststroke.

"I was really pleased to swim my best times in the first big meet of the year and get three medals," she said. "I'm really looking forward to the British Championships in April."

Mrs Heather Stott, Head of Girls' Sport at St Columba's, said: "This is a fantastic achievement for Caitlin! She continues to make huge strides with her swimming. But above all, she continues to be a modest, wonderful Columban, striving to do the best in everything she does."

Swimming continues to thrive at St Columba's. Back in November, the St Albans independent school was represented at the National Schools' Swimming Finals for the first time in its history when the U18 girls' team qualified in both the Medley and Freestyle Relays. They qualified in the top 10 in the country for the Medley Relay after more than 120 schools entered.
