​A number of Felsted School boarders were welcomed back this week, the first time the boarding houses have been open since April.

Felsted School student Maddy Stapleton, age 16, has been selected for the National Youth Theatre (NYT), out of 1000s of young people who auditioned throughout the UK.

​​Felsted School welcomed back the first of its senior school pupils this week since the switch to home learning at the end of March. Extensive measures have been put in place to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all pupils.

The ​Felsted School community have provided care packages and support for local care homes, in response to the growing concern of loneliness amongst elderley residents who are missing friends and family visits due to the pandemic.​

Felsted School nurses, Maria Hinchcliffe and Karen Kirk, have joined the many healthcare professionals across the country volunteering their skills to the NHS. The two women have been working out of their comfort zones and facing their fears every single day of this pandemic.

Schools across the country may be closed, but this hasn’t stopped staff and students at Felsted School from joining the fightback against the pandemic. Not only have they housed the East England Ambulance staff, made visors and donated PPE and Easter eggs to the NHS, but they are also brightening up the lockdown for a number of elderly residents in the village.
