Fun and frolics – with a large splattering of powder paint – have raised more than £2,000 for King’s Ely’s two school charities.

​When it comes to public speaking, Brentwood School’s articulate students are in a class of their own, becoming national Youth Speaks champions for the second time.

Congratulations to two of Leehurst Swan’s students, Emily and Hattie, who have been awarded second place and a Highly Commended prize, respectively, for their Independent Schools Association (ISA) Essay Competition 2019 entries.

​“I am delighted to be able to report that our full ISI Inspection in March has resulted in the best possible outcome for Felsted” comments Headmaster Chris Townsend. “We were found to be compliant in all areas and ‘excellent’ in both judgements of Educational Quality (the top grading). This is a tribute to the hard work of all the staff, pupils, governors, and of course parents, in supporting the school's vision to provide the very best all round education, and develop young people of character, who will make a difference in the world around them.”

Young trombonist Daisy Hogan (pictured) hit all the right notes at the Rotary Club Young Musician of the Year competition, where she won the award for Most Promising Instrumentalist.

It was certainly an afternoon to remember for Sol Boon and Lottie Wilkinson, who were formally announced as being King’s Ely’s new Heads of School for 2019/20 before then going on to win the school’s annual Hoop Trundle.
